About the Event
The 35th Police District is hosting their annual Unity Day. The events are attended by 300+ residents within the Olney and Germantown Area. The community day event is a highly anticipated occasion that presents a unique opportunity for law enforcement officials to engage with local residents in a meaningful way. This event serves as a platform for police officers to provide valuable resources and information to underserved communities, while also fostering a sense of unity and cooperation between law enforcement and the public.
The Samaritan Place is going to be one of the vendors in attendance and will distribute fresh produce and dry goods to combat food insecurity. Shockingly, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), one out of every ten households in the Philly region does not have access to affordable, healthy food consistently, leading to higher levels of chronic disease like diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, and cancer. This initiative seeks to alleviate this problem by providing access to nutritious food.
