March was a month of deep service and connection at Samaritan Place as we stood alongside our Philadelphia community through winter’s toughest stretch. In collaboration with local partners, we provided critical support including food, personal protective equipment, winter clothing, and resource referrals to families navigating financial hardship. Through grassroots outreach and trusted partnerships, we ensured essential items reached those who needed them most, helping to restore hope and dignity. These efforts not only met urgent needs but also reminded our neighbors that they are seen.

Samaritan Place Continues to Fight Food Insecurity in Philly
Samaritan Place successfully hosted another Food Distribution Event at Belfield Rec Center, serving families in the 19138 community. The event saw a fantastic turnout, with many families receiving fresh food and essential resources. With nearly 12 million children in America living in poverty, access to nutritious meals remains a critical issue, disproportionately affecting Black and Hispanic communities. This vital initiative, held every second Thursday of the month, ensures families have consistent access to food and support. A huge thank you to PA Outreach Coordinator Alexis Nolan, whose dedication and hard work make these events possible. From coordinating logistics to ensuring smooth distribution, her efforts continue to make a lasting impact.
